Where can I find every chess tournament in Italy?

In this calendar: 276 upcoming rated tournaments from the official Italian Chess Federation (FSI) calendar, grouped by month and updated daily. Each row links to the official announcement.

Can foreigners play in Italian chess tournaments?

Yes. Opens welcome players from abroad. Rated events usually ask for an FSI membership card (tessera) or a licence from your own federation; the announcement says which. Most organisers take registrations online or by e-mail.

What do standard, rapid and blitz mean?

They describe the thinking time. Standard gives each player at least an hour per game, usually over a weekend or several evenings; rapid runs from about 10 to 60 minutes and finishes in a day; blitz is under 10 minutes per player.

Can beginners enter a tournament?

Yes. Opens accept every level, many split the field into rating groups or run "under" sections, and a one-day rapid tournament is a good first taste of competition.

How to read this calendar

Each tournament shows its dates, town and province, and its time control: standard, rapid or blitz. The tournament name links to its official announcement (bando), which is authoritative for rules, schedule, fees and registration. Tournaments that are cancelled or removed from the official calendar disappear here at the next update. Information without guarantee: the official announcement always takes precedence.
