What is a chess meetup?
An open get-together to play chess in a café, park or community space, announced by a player or a club on Chessmates. Free, usually without registration, for every level. Whoever comes, plays.
Do I need to sign up?
Mostly not; an RSVP in the app helps the host plan and shows you who else is coming. Club nights welcome guests too; a short note beforehand is appreciated.
How do I start my own meetup?
In the Chessmates app in two minutes: place, time and a sentence. Players nearby see it at once, on the map too, and it appears here and on your city's page.
How do I find an opponent when no meetup is on?
With the "available" switch in the app: propose a game to a player nearby, or answer an open request.
