Rating, federation, and title are fetched from FIDE on verify. Find your ID at ratings.fide.com.
🛡️
Quick safety check
Most meetups go great. A few habits to keep them that way:
☕
Meet somewhere public
Cafés, chess clubs, libraries, and public parks work best. If you're hosting, your location is visible to every Chessmates user — pick a venue, not your home address. If a host suggests somewhere private, it's fair to ask why or skip it.
✓
Look for FIDE-verified profiles
A FIDE badge means the player has been matched to their entry in the international federation's database — a real-world ID. Linked Lichess or Chess.com accounts only confirm a username, not an identity.

Trust your gut, report anything off
You can leave any meetup at any time. Use the ⋯ menu on any profile or message to report or block — we review every report within 24 hours.

Acceleration system
Per FIDE handbook C.04.5. Most events use None. Baku is useful for short Swiss tournaments where the top half would otherwise be paired down too quickly.
Your tournament already has one section from the ELO category + max players above. Add more below to split the field, e.g. add a U1300 bracket alongside the main Open section.
